When you purchase your Vodafone SIM card from any retail outlets, you can immediately use it on your GSM phone. On the other hand, if Vodafone has sent you a replacement SIM card, you need to activate it first before you can use it. Activating your Vodafone SIM is easy; you can do it either through Vodafone online or through your phone.

Go to Vodafone. Open a web browser on your computer and go to My Vodafone login page at https://www.myvodafone.com.au/auth/login.
You can activate your SIM online if you’re a pay monthly customer, but for pay-as-you-go SIMs it’s different.
If you got the SIM in a Vodafone shop, it will be activated already.
If you ordered it online, call 17298 after inserting it into your phone.

Sim card activations normally go through quite quickly, but Vodafone always advise up to 24 hours for the SIM to become active.

As your old SIM card has stopped working, you may need to plug the iPhone into iTunes or connect it to WiFi to activate the phone with the SIM.

How To Activate a replacement SIM Card

Once you have a replacement SIM you’ll need to activate it. You can activate it online or by calling us.

Look out for the last 10 digits of your new SIM number before you head online or call us.

You can find the SIM number as shown at A or B.

What happens next?

Once your existing SIM stops working, insert your Vodafone SIM into your device and you’ll be ready to go.

How long will it take?

Once your request is submitted, your new SIM should be up and running within 15 minutes. If it doesn’t connect after 15 minutes, try switching your phone off and on.
